St John's Threapwood

St-Johns

St John’s Church, Threapwood, is located in the village of Threapwood, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the deanery of Malpas. Its benefice is combined with that of St Oswald, Malpas. The church is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building. The authors of the Buildings of England series state that it is entirely Georgian in style.

Our Sunday Services are on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 09.30 am Holy Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer

Planning your Visit

Welcome

If you are a guest to church or you are thinking of joining us for worship, this section tells you a little about us and about what to expect when you come to church.

Sundays

We have three churches and all have different styles and expressions of worship but all have something in common:
  • We worship Jesus through authentic worship, preaching, and prayer
  • We love to sing
  • We welcome children and young families. You will find a toy corner with toys and craft
  • We meet for tea, coffee, juice, and biscuits after each service (not St John's)
  • Each service lasts between 45- 60 minutes
  • We have toilets and changing facilities (not at St John's)

Accessibility: At St Oswald's there is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, you can sign up to serve on a team.

Other Ministries

We also run the following ministries:

  • Home visiting
  • Schools ministry
  • Mother's Union
